Heartsine® based in Belfast are the only UK manufacturer of automatic external defibrillators (AED). We have launched a donation fund to get as many of the Heartsine® Samaritan 500P semi-automatic defibrillators into the hands of the organisations that need them. The 500P has unique CPR monitoring capability putting it at the forefront of this technology.

This is our way of acknowledging a number of things. Our founder Jim McLoughlin was born in Belfast and died after cardiac arrest. Gordon McLoughlin founded smots™ and has himself had the benefit of being cardioverted due to cardiac issues.

This is about giving something back. Bystander CPR is literally a lifesaving action.

  How does the scheme work?

The qualifying smots™ system purchases will come with a Donation Form. The form can be completed and submitted directly to AED@smots.org On approval, a Heartsine® 500P will be delivered to the recipient which must be a non-commercial group, club, or GoodSam Responder and they must commit to registering the device on The_Circuit for public availability either during opening hours of the group, or 24/7 if for a Responder or outdoor cabinet placement.

We will supply an outdoor heated cabinet if requested. This unit has a low voltage power supply so simply needs fixed to a suitable wall and connected to power indoors (at the recipient's expense).

The Heartsine® 500P has a number of significant advantages over other products.
